What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew collar and pocket. The round neck is finished with a narrow rib that sits flat against the collarbone. We set a small square pocket on the left chest, knitting the stripes straight through without interruption.
  • Short cropped line. The body is cut wide and hangs straight down, ending in a shortened hem. It sits cleanly above high-rise trousers and knit skirts without needing to be tucked in or bunched up.
  • Cotton yarn texture. We use a lightweight cotton yarn for this knit. The fabric holds a dry, soft hand against bare skin and keeps its shape across the shoulders instead of clinging.
  • Gentle wash care. Hand wash in cold water or run a gentle machine cycle using mild soap. Press out excess water in a clean towel and dry the knit flat so the hem does not stretch.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
