Womens Striped Lightweight Sweaters
We knit this lightweight sweater with horizontal colour blocks across the body and arms. The cut sits wide through the torso and hangs away from the waist down past the hip. A plain crew collar finishes the neck, matched by ribbed cuffs that keep the long sleeves in place.

What we would tell you in the studio
- Cotton blend yarn. The knit uses a soft cotton yarn that stays light on the shoulders. It gives enough warmth for transitional weather while resting smooth against bare skin without prickle.
- Roomy straight cut. We gave this piece extra width through the chest and waist so the fabric falls straight down. The extended hem clears the hips for an easy, unfitted drape over trousers.
- Pocket and crewneck. A single patch pocket sits across the striped chest to break up the pattern. The neckline is a simple rounded crew bound with narrow ribbing that holds its shape.
- Washing and care. Hand wash this knit in cool water or send it for gentle dry cleaning. Press out the water with a towel and dry it flat to keep the stripes straight.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Read the size chart on the partner page before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
