What we would tell you in the studio
- Ribbed knit structure. We knit this in vertical ribs that expand across the body and recover cleanly. The surface texture traps warmth while remaining light enough to sit under heavy jackets and cardigans without bunching.
- High folded collar. The knit rises into a tall turtleneck that stays upright on its own. It rests close to the throat to block out cold drafts without pressing hard against the skin.
- Long straight sleeves. The sleeves run long down the arm and finish with self-knit cuffs. They fit straight from the shoulder, leaving room for natural movement when worn under structured blazers or wool overcoats.
- Washing and care. Hand wash this knit in cold water with mild detergent or use a gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag. Press the excess water out flat with a towel and dry on a flat surface.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
