What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck and long sleeves. The top features a simple bound crew neckline that sits flat against the collarbone. Full-length sleeves end in neat hems that stay put beneath heavier knit cuffs and jacket sleeves.
  • Straight close cut. The knit holds enough elasticity to follow your movement while remaining straight through the torso and legs. It avoids excess bulk under winter trousers, ski pants, or fleece.
  • Smooth grey yarn. We chose a fine grey yarn with a soft, matte face that feels smooth directly against bare skin. The knit structure allows sweat to lift away during active outdoor wear.
  • Cold-water wash care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colours. We recommend laying both pieces flat to dry so the stretch recovery and fine-gauge surface stay true over repeated winter wear.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
