What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck and sleeves. The top is built with a simple round crew neckline that rests flat against the collarbone. Long sleeves end in neat hems that slide easily into heavy knit cuffs without bunching.
  • Low bulk knit. We chose a fine, flexible knit that holds warmth while keeping fabric weight down. It gives you full range of motion under outdoor layers or thick winter wools.
  • Straight cut bottoms. The trousers run straight from the waist down to the ankle, balancing stretch with an easy drape. They pull on cleanly beneath jeans, ski bibs, or lounge pants.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colours. Lay both pieces flat to dry to preserve the elasticity and keep the white fabric bright over repeated winter wear.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
