What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck top cut. The long sleeve pullover sits away from the torso with side slits along the lower hem that give the knit room to move over the waistline.
  • Wide leg trousers. We shaped the pants with a wide leg profile and set in side pockets that lie flat against the yarn when empty.
  • Lightweight knit hand. The fine gauge knit feels smooth and soft directly against bare skin, holding enough drape to hang straight without feeling heavy.
  • Care and washing. Machine wash the top and bottoms together on a gentle cold cycle to protect the stitch gauge, then dry flat so the knit keeps its shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
