What we would tell you in the studio
- Brushed surface texture. The yarn is brushed lightly across the surface for a soft hand that sits easily against bare skin. It holds enough stretch to move without losing its shape through the shoulders and sleeves.
- Crew neck and buttons. A plain round crew neck sits close to the collarbone. Tonal buttons run down the center front, allowing the piece to be worn closed as a top or left open as a light layer.
- Roomy straight cut. The body is cut wide and hangs straight down away from the waist. Long sleeves taper toward the wrist, while the lower hem falls cleanly across the hips.
- Gentle wash care. Wash on a cold cycle or hand wash in cool water. Lay the knit flat on a towel to dry so the brushed surface and overall shape stay intact.

- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
