Silk Satin Pajama Set for Women Summer Two Piece Fall Lounge

We cut this two-piece lounge set from lightweight silk satin in soft lilac. The short-sleeve shirt opens into a notched collar and fastens down the front with buttons, while the matching shorts sit on a flexible elastic waistband. Both pieces hang away from the body with plenty of room through the torso and legs.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Notch collar and front. The top features an open notch neckline that leads into a neat row of buttons down the front placket. A single patch pocket sits on the left chest, keeping the cut balanced and practical for slow mornings.
  • Short sleeves and hem. Short sleeves leave the arms bare and hit well above the elbow. The shirt hem lands at the hips, giving you enough length to wear it loose over the shorts or partly tucked.
  • Elastic waist shorts. We paired the shirt with matching satin shorts cut wide through the leg. The covered elastic waistband stretches gently to sit flat against the waist without pulling or binding while you sleep.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash the set on a gentle cycle using cold water to protect the smooth finish of the satin. Lay both pieces flat or hang them to dry away from direct heat.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
