What we would tell you in the studio
- Chunky textured knit. The gauge is thick and tactile, producing a heavy fabric that holds its own shape. We chose a bright white yarn that highlights the texture across the body, giving the surface a distinct dimensional feel.
- Front tie closure. Instead of buttons or a zipper, we finished the open front with knit ties. You can fasten them loosely or leave the placket open, letting the cardigan hang straight down from the shoulders.
- Sleeve shape. The sleeves are cut with generous volume through the arm before gathering at the wrist. This rounded shape balances the relaxed body and gives the shoulders a soft, dropped line.
- Washing and care. Hand wash in cool water or dry clean to protect the stitch definition. Squeeze out excess moisture gently in a towel and dry the garment flat so the heavy yarn does not stretch out of shape.
