Women Lace Long Sleeve Shirts Henley Tops Casual Blouse

We cut this top close through the chest and torso in a smooth, supple knit. The front placket fastens with small buttons below a plain round crew neck. Full-length sleeves are inset with open lace, letting skin show through from shoulder to wrist. The hem finishes around the upper hip.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Lace sleeve detail. The sleeves run full length in an openwork lace pattern. Because the lace is porous and light, it contrasts with the opaque body fabric and layers neatly inside heavy cardigans or jackets without bunching up the forearm.
  • Henley button placket. A functional button front sits under the ribbed crew band. You can leave the top buttons undone to change the neckline or keep them fastened flat against the collarbone. The band stays anchored without pulling.
  • Close torso fit. The body panels sit near to the skin without tight compression. A touch of stretch helps the knit recover after a day of movement, keeping the lower edge settled across the waistband of trousers or denim skirts.
  • Washing the lace. Wash cold on a gentle cycle, preferably inside a mesh laundry bag so the lace sleeves do not catch on hooks or zippers. Tumble dry on low heat, or spread the piece flat across a drying rack.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
