What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crewneck and long sleeves. The top is built with a simple crew collar that sits flat against the collarbone. Long sleeves finish in a neat cuff to keep the shape close around your wrists through the day.
  • Adjustable waist and pockets. We set an adjustable drawstring into the waistband so you can set the fit where you want it. Deep side pockets are knitted into the trousers to hold small everyday items.
  • Straight leg cut. The trousers run straight from the thigh down to the ankle hem. The yarn hangs cleanly without clinging to the legs, holding its line while you sit or walk.
  • Care and maintenance. Wash both pieces together in cool water on a gentle cycle so the beige tone stays matched. Lay them flat to dry to keep the trousers from stretching lengthwise.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
