What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew top construction. The top is built with a clean crewneck band and long sleeves that fall straight to the wrist. It rests easily on the shoulders without pulling, making it simple to wear alone or under a heavier jacket.
  • Trousers and pockets. We gave the bottoms an adjustable drawstring waistband that anchors where you set it. Deep side pockets sit flat against the hip when empty and hold small items securely during the day.
  • Lightweight knit hand. The yarn is blended for flexibility and lightness, offering gentle stretch that springs back. It has a smooth surface against bare skin and holds its shape without bunching or clinging.
  • Care and washing. Machine wash the set inside out in cold water on a gentle cycle, preferably in a mesh bag. Lay both pieces flat on a rack to dry so the knit retains its length and color depth.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
