What we would tell you in the studio
- Airy knit texture. The lightweight yarn blend produces a soft, supple fabric that drapes straight down. It holds a gentle give across the back while staying cool to the touch over base layers.
- Placket and neck. A shaped V-neckline meets a classic button-down front. Ribbed stitching reinforces the collar, button band, and straight hem so the open structure keeps its line without stretching out.
- Roomy long cut. We gave this a wide, easy fit with short sleeves that clear the elbows. The hem drops low past the knee, creating a clean vertical drape over trousers or knit shorts.
- Care and washing. Hand wash this cardigan in cold water to protect the yarn structure. Press excess moisture out in a clean towel, lay it flat on a drying rack, and store it folded on a shelf.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
