What we would tell you in the studio
- Open V-neck and pleats. The neckline opens into a neat V that sits flat against the collarbone. Beneath it, small gathered pleats release fabric through the front, giving the close cut room to move before gathering back in at the waist.
- Banded lower hem. We finished the base with a wide self-knit band that sits around the hip. The band anchors the bottom edge firmly, creating a gentle blouson drape above it that stays put without needing to be tucked into waistbands.
- Long set-in sleeves. The sleeves follow the arm in a straight, narrow line down to the wrist. Because the knit yarn has natural stretch and recovery, the cuffs push up the forearm easily and hold their position through the day.
- Gentle wash routine. Machine wash this piece on a gentle cycle using cold water to preserve the depth of the caramel yarn. Lay it flat across a drying rack rather than hanging, which keeps the fine stitches from stretching out over time.
