What we would tell you in the studio

  • V-neck and crop. The top sits away from the body with an open V-neckline and long sleeves. Its shorter hem meets the high rise of the trousers without bunching extra fabric around your waist.
  • Ribbed trouser build. We shaped the pants with a wide, straight leg and an elastic waistband secured by an adjustable drawstring. Deep side pockets sit flat along the hip seams to hold small items without pulling on the knit.
  • Fine gauge texture. The knit uses a smooth, lightweight yarn spun with stretch to hold its recovery after hours of sitting. The narrow vertical rib adds texture across both pieces while keeping the hand soft against bare skin.
  • Cold water care. Wash the set on a gentle cold cycle and tumble dry on low heat. Laying the pieces flat to dry on a towel helps preserve the vertical rib lines and keeps the trouser hems true.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
