What we would tell you in the studio
- Tall ribbed neck. The turtleneck is knitted in a tidy vertical rib that holds its shape through a full day of wear. You can roll it down once or let it gather loosely at the throat.
- Roomy dropped cut. We set the armholes low on the body so the long sleeves fall with a relaxed line. The torso stays wide and unshaped, giving you room to layer a collared shirt or fine jersey underneath.
- Long straight hem. A band of ribbing finishes the lower edge, which falls low on the frame. Because the knit is open and straight, the hem drops freely over denim, knit skirts, or wide trousers.
- Washing and care. Hand wash in cold water with a gentle knit detergent, or run a cold delicate cycle. Press the water out with a towel and lay the sweater flat to dry so the heavy hem does not stretch.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
