What we would tell you in the studio
- Wide leg drape. The leg runs wide from the upper thigh down to the hem. It falls clear of the body, giving the lightweight jersey room to move and pool slightly over flat shoes.
- Elastic high waistband. We built the waistband with a wide inner elastic that distributes tension evenly across the middle. It pulls on easily and stays put through a full day of movement.
- Side seam pockets. Two deep pockets are set directly into the side seams. They stay tucked away and lie flat until you slide your hands in.
- Washing and shape care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colours. Lay them flat to dry on a towel so the jersey keeps its shape and does not stretch out along the hem.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
