Linen Wide Leg Pants Womens Palazzo Flowy Beach Vacation

We knit these trousers with a wide leg that hangs loose from the hip down to the shoe. The linen and rayon yarn keeps the fabric light, while an elasticated drawstring waistband secures the fit without pinching. The brick red tone is dyed through the yarn before knitting.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Wide palazzo leg. The trouser falls straight from the waistband with generous width through the thigh and calf. Because the yarn has a light drape, the legs swing freely with your step and stay off the skin.
  • Drawstring waist. An elastic waistband holds the top securely in place, threaded with a self-knit drawstring so you can adjust the tension. The channel sits flat against the lower waist without bunching up.
  • Linen blend yarn. We blended linen with rayon to get the cool, dry hand of flax alongside the supple give of rayon. The knit has a faint slub texture that softens further as you wash and wear it.
  • Care routine. Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry on low heat or lay the trousers out flat to keep the long side seams from twisting over time.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
