What we would tell you in the studio

  • Wide leg drape. The legs fall straight and wide without tapering at the ankles. This cut allows steady airflow and gives the woven stretch fabric room to move naturally when you walk.
  • Waistband and closure. We built an elastic waistband with a classic zipper closure at the front. The band sits flat against the waist, holding its position while adjusting easily to your movement.
  • Side pockets. Two functional inset pockets sit along the side seams. They stay flat against the hip line when empty and provide practical storage for small daily items.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with similar dark colors. Tumble dry on low heat or hang on a line to dry, using a low iron if you need to press out storage creases.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
