Womens Wide Leg Work Pants Dress Slacks Business Casual Trousers

We cut these trousers with a wide, straight fall from the hip through the leg opening. The navy blue weave incorporates stretch yarn so the fabric flexes as you walk and returns to its line when you stand. An elastic insert at the back waistband keeps the waist secure without pulling.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Wide leg drape. The leg drops straight down from the hip with plenty of room through the thigh and calf. Because the fabric has weight, the pants keep their pressed shape instead of clinging or bunching during movement.
  • Waistband construction. We set an elastic section into the back of the waistband and finished the front with a clean zip closure. This gives you give where you sit while keeping the front flat under untucked sweaters or fitted knits.
  • Side pocket details. Two inset pockets sit along the side seams, deep enough to hold a phone or card case without breaking the line of the hip. The pocket bags are stitched flat against the inner front panel to reduce bulk.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like dark colours. You can tumble dry on low heat or hang them straight from the wash, and a low iron removes any packing creases without damaging the stretch yarn.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
