What we would tell you in the studio

  • Open crochet stitch. The loose yarn structure creates wide gaps between stitches to let air move through. It gives the fabric natural mechanical give while keeping the top light against warm skin.
  • Sleeveless V-neck cut. The neckline dips into an open V and the sleeveless armholes are wide enough to clear shoulder movement. The body hangs straight without clinging through the midsection.
  • Hip length hem. The bottom edge lands around the hip line, finished with self-edge crochet loops that resist curling. It sits flat over denim shorts, linen trousers, or swim bottoms.
  • Washing and care. Hand wash in cool water with a mild liquid soap to protect the openwork loops. Press excess water out in a dry towel and dry flat on a rack so the knit holds its shape.

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
