Womens Linen Blend Summer Beach Vacation Wide Leg Palazzo Pants

We knit these wide-leg trousers from a blend of linen and rayon that hangs away from the leg with a dry, airy hand. The waist adjusts with a gathered drawstring band, and deep side pockets sit flat along the seams. In light purple, the fabric holds a soft, pale cast.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Wide palazzo cut. The leg falls straight and wide from the waistband down to the hem. It leaves space around the knee and ankle, allowing the lightweight fabric to move freely as you walk.
  • Drawstring waist and pockets. An elasticated band holds the waist without pinching, anchored by a matching fabric drawstring for small adjustments. Deep side pockets are set into the side seams to carry small items without pulling the shape.
  • Linen and rayon yarn. The linen gives the surface a subtle slub texture, while the rayon softens the yarn and adds weight to the downward drape. It stays light against the skin in warm weather.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the stitching. Tumble dry on low heat or dry flat away from direct sun to keep the linen fibres relaxed.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
