What we would tell you in the studio
- Wide leg cut. The legs fall straight and loose from the hip down to a wide open hem. Air moves freely through the cut, and the fabric sways lightly rather than clinging as you walk.
- Drawstring waistband. We finished the waist with encased elastic and a matching pull cord. You can adjust the tension directly at the middle, keeping the rise sitting comfortably where you place it.
- Deep side pockets. Two inset pockets sit along the side seams. They drop deep enough to hold keys or a small wallet flat against the hip without breaking the outward line of the trousers.
- Care and wash. Wash cold on a gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the linen blend yarn. Tumble dry on low heat or lay the pants flat to dry to reduce hard creasing.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
