What we would tell you in the studio

  • Structured wool blend. The wool blend fabric has a smooth face and enough body to hold its shape over a full day. It resists wind while remaining soft to the touch, keeping its clean lines without feeling rigid.
  • Straight double-breasted cut. Two rows of front buttons close the front over a notch lapel. The body hangs straight from the shoulders down to the lower hem, avoiding excess bulk while leaving room for heavy knits underneath.
  • Length and coverage. The lower hem extends past the knee toward the ankle for generous cold-weather coverage. Deep side pockets sit along the seam line to warm hands or hold daily items without breaking the silhouette.
  • Outerwear care. We recommend dry cleaning to preserve the tailored shape and smooth surface of the wool blend. For spot care, hand wash cold without twisting, and smooth any storage folds with a low-heat garment steamer.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
