Wide Leg Dress Work Pants Slacks Trousers Business Casual Teacher

We shaped these trousers with a crisp front crease stitched directly into each leg so it holds its line through a full day of wear. The knit combines resilience with enough give to pull on easily. A clean waistband and inset side pockets keep the profile practical.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Front seam detail. A stitched vertical crease runs down the center of each straight leg. It holds a tailored look without needing an iron and keeps the fabric falling straight from the hip down to the shoe.
  • Waist and closure. The waistband combines a flat front zipper with an elasticated back panel. It sits flat across the midsection while adapting as you sit and move, staying secure without a separate belt.
  • Yarn and structure. We knitted these with high recovery yarn that balances softness against a dense, compact gauge. The surface stays smooth, resisting bagging at the knees across hours of sitting and walking.
  • Wash and care. Wash on a cold cycle inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the stitched creases and pocket edges. Tumble dry on low heat or lay flat to preserve the waist elasticity.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
