Wide Leg Dress Work Pants Slacks Trousers Business Casual Teacher

We knit these trousers with a dense, resilient yarn that holds its shape through a full day of movement. The cut sits straight through the leg, anchored by an elastic back waist and a front zip. A fixed center crease runs down each leg so the line stays crisp without pressing.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Waistband and closure. An elastic back panel pairs with a clean front zip closure. The band sits flat against the waist, giving you give where you need it while keeping a neat profile under tucked knit tops or boxy pullovers.
  • Center leg crease. A permanent stitched seam runs down the center of each leg. It holds a sharp vertical line from hip to hem, keeping the trouser structured throughout long hours of sitting and walking.
  • Dense stretch knit. The yarn blend uses high-recovery fibers that bounce back after stretching. It produces a substantial fabric weight with a smooth surface hand, avoiding the stiffness of woven suiting while retaining a tailored drape.
  • Cold wash care. Machine wash in cold water inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the knit surface. Tumble dry on low heat or lay flat across a drying rack, and keep clear of bleach.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
