What we would tell you in the studio

  • Wrap front neck. The crossover neckline creates an open V that stays flat against the chest. We knit the band with enough recovery to hold its place throughout the day.
  • Smocked waist fit. A flexible smocked panel gathers the midsection without pulling tight. It gives way to deep side pockets set cleanly into the side seams.
  • Full length hem. The skirt drapes straight to the ankle in heavy, fluid folds. The weight of the stretch knit keeps the long line steady as you walk.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash cold with like darks, using a mesh bag to protect the fine knit surface. Lay the dress flat to dry so the long hem holds its shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
