What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck and sleeves. The top is built with a classic round crew neck that lies flat. We shaped the sleeves with volume through the arm and cropped the length to finish at three quarter length.
  • Roomy straight trousers. The knit trousers have a pull-on elastic waistband that sits without hardware. The legs fall straight and loose away from the body, ending in a clean plain hem.
  • Drape and yarn hand. This fine gauge knit carries moderate weight and drops straight down rather than clinging. The surface feels smooth and soft against bare skin, with enough natural stretch to recover after sitting.
  • Care and washing. Wash both pieces together on a gentle cycle in cold water to keep the darkblue shade uniform. Lay flat on a clean towel to dry so the knit retains its original length.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
