What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck top. The top sits away from the body and finishes around the hip. We kept the round neckline simple so it rests flat against the collarbone without pulling or gaping.
  • Three quarter sleeves. The sleeves are cut with extra volume through the arm and end below the elbow. This keeps the cuffs clear of your hands while you move around the house.
  • Matching knit trousers. The long trousers hang straight from a flexible elastic waistband. Because both halves are knitted from the identical yarn batch, the winered tone matches across the whole set.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water or dry clean. We suggest laying both pieces flat on a drying rack to keep the knit from stretching out.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
