What we would tell you in the studio

  • Ribbed body knit. The fine gauge vertical rib adds subtle texture across the torso and sleeves. It gives the fabric a gentle horizontal give that moves easily without clinging tightly to the midsection.
  • Open lace neckline. We set a wide V-neckline into the front and bordered the cut edge with tonal black lace. The trim lies smooth against bare skin and leaves the neck open for simple layering.
  • Roomy cropped cut. The body is cut wide through the torso so the fabric falls straight down from the bust. It ends in a shorter hem that sits high on the hips, pairing cleanly with higher waists.
  • Washing and care. Wash on a gentle cycle in cold water inside a mesh garment bag to protect the lace edges. Lay the piece flat on a towel away from direct heat to dry and keep the rib in shape.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
