Womens Lounge Sets 2 Piece Matching Travel Outfits

We knit this matching two-piece set from a fine, lightweight ribbed yarn in deep purple. The crewneck top falls straight through the body with long, unribbed sleeves, while the trousers drop freely to the ankle without clinging. Both pieces are dyed together in the same dye lot for an exact colour match.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Ribbed gauge and yarn. The yarn is spun with plenty of give and knitted into a narrow, vertical rib. It feels light in the hand and holds enough spring to avoid sagging after sitting for hours.
  • Crewneck and long sleeves. The neckline sits as a tidy, flat crew that holds its circular shape. Long sleeves run straight down the arm to a clean folded cuff that pushes up easily when you want it out of the way.
  • Full length trouser hem. The matching knit bottoms are cut roomy through the leg and fall straight down to land at the ankle. Because the rib structure runs vertically, the knit drops smoothly under its own weight.
  • Laundering the set. Wash both pieces together in cold water on a gentle cycle so the purple shade stays consistent across the set. Lay them flat on a drying rack or tumble dry on low heat.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
