What we would tell you in the studio

  • Ribbed bodycon knit. The vertical rib gauge provides continuous elasticity across the torso and skirt. It pulls the garment close to the skin, stretching to accommodate movement and recovering its original shape when rested.
  • Stand mock neckline. The collar sits close against the base of the neck in a double-layered band. It keeps its upright shape throughout the day without rolling down or bunching beneath an outer coat.
  • Straight mini hem. We finish the lower edge with a clean horizontal hem that sits mid-thigh. Because the knit has weight and stretch, the bottom edge stays in place rather than riding up during walking.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash cold with similar dark tones to protect the deep wine red dye. Tumble dry on low heat or lay the piece flat on a towel so the ribbed knit retains its length.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
