What we would tell you in the studio
- Pique knit texture. The small geometric pique stitch adds texture across the whole sweater. It gives the yarn enough substance to hang away from the body without feeling stiff or heavy against your skin.
- Crew neck and raglan cut. A plain round crewneck sits flat at the collarbone. Diagonal raglan seams run straight from the neck to the underarm, giving the shoulders a clean, continuous line.
- Cropped hemline. The hem is cut short to land higher on the waist. It pairs naturally with high-rise trousers or skirts, leaving the waistline visible without needing a heavy tuck.
- Care and washing. Hand wash cold or run on a gentle cycle using cold water and mild detergent. Press excess water out flat in a towel and dry on a flat surface to maintain the shape.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
