What we would tell you in the studio
- High ribbed neck. The collar stands tall around the neck in a close rib that holds its shape without binding. It blocks drafts and stays upright through a full day of wear.
- Roomy square cut. Dropped shoulder seams create low armholes and a loose body that hangs straight down. The generous cut leaves space underneath for a thin base layer.
- Cropped ribbed hem. Wide ribbing finishes the short hem, anchoring the lower edge without pulling it tight against the hips. It sits neatly above higher waistbands.
- Cold water care. Wash by hand or run on a gentle machine cycle with cold water and a mild detergent. Lay the sweater flat on a clean towel to dry so the knit does not stretch.

- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
