What we would tell you in the studio
- Wide V-neck. The front plunges into an open V-neckline framed by a flat knitted border. It sits broad across the collarbone, leaving room for undershirts and crewneck bases without bunching.
- Cropped boxy cut. We shaped the body wide and cut the hem short. The sides hang straight down from the underarm, keeping the knit away from the waist and pairing naturally with high-rise trousers.
- Short sleeve profile. Short sleeves drop from a relaxed shoulder line to cover the upper arm. The opening is wide, allowing movement and making it simple to slide over long-sleeve cotton layers.
- Yarn and care. Spun from a smooth, light yarn in a pale apricot shade. Hand wash in cold water with gentle wool soap, press out excess moisture between towels, and dry flat to hold the shape.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
