What we would tell you in the studio
- Brushed light knit. The yarn blend is spun for a fine gauge with a lightly brushed hand. It adds a thin layer of warmth without heavy bulk, folding down small without holding hard creases.
- Open front and crew edge. The collar band runs clean around the back of the neck into an unfastened front. Because there are no buttons or zips, the front panels drop straight and stay flat when worn over other knits.
- Lower patch pockets. Two wide pockets are set low on the front panels. They sit flat against the body when empty, giving you a spot to rest your hands while keeping the long vertical lines intact.
- Cold wash and flat dry. Wash this piece on a gentle cold cycle with mild detergent. Reshape the damp knit by hand and dry it flat on a towel so the hem does not stretch out of square.

- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
