What we would tell you in the studio
- Brushed lightweight gauge. The yarn has a fine, brushed surface that feels soft directly against the skin. It holds enough body to drape cleanly without adding heavy bulk under an outer jacket.
- Roomy open front. The body is cut wide and hangs open without buttons or closures. It gives you plenty of room across the shoulders and chest to layer over shirts, knit tops, or dresses.
- Pockets and hem. Two deep patch pockets sit at the front to hold small items or keep hands warm. The lower edge lands past the hip, finished with a clean self-edge that resists curling.
- Washing and drying. Wash on a gentle cycle in cold water with mild detergent. Lay the cardigan flat on a dry towel away from direct heat so the knit retains its shape and smooth surface.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
