What we would tell you in the studio
- Crew neck and placket. A banded crew neckline sits flat at the base of the throat. The front placket fastens with matching buttons that hold the straight front edge together smoothly when closed.
- Cropped straight hem. The hem finishes short and straight along the waistline. It rests lightly against high-rise waistbands without bunching or rolling upward throughout the day.
- Fine gauge black knit. We use a lightweight blended yarn that keeps the surface smooth to the touch. The solid black dye shows off the even stitch definition across the chest and shoulders.
- Gentle knit care. Hand wash in cold water or run a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Press the water out gently and lay the cardigan flat to dry so the short sleeves retain their shape.

Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
