Striped Set for Women Two Piece Lounge Sets Summer Outfits

Horizontal bands of brown and white run across a soft, light-gauge knit. The crew neck top has a wide, dropped cut with long sleeves, while the bottoms hang straight and finish long toward the ankle. Both pieces are knitted together to keep the tension and stripe gauge matched throughout.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Striped knit construction. We alternate brown and white yarn across a smooth knit with four-way stretch. The surface sits flat against skin and holds its shape through a full day of movement.
  • Crew neck and long sleeves. The neckline is banded with self-fabric ribbing that lies flat at the collarbone. Dropped shoulders lead into full-length sleeves that hang loose down to the wrist.
  • Long lower hem. The matching bottoms sit on an elastic waist and fall straight down the leg, clearing the calf and landing near the ankle. The cut hangs clear of the body rather than hugging it.
  • Wash and lay flat. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle to protect the stripe alignment and yarn elasticity. Reshape the pieces while damp and dry them flat on a towel.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
