What we would tell you in the studio

  • Brushed fleece knit. The yarn is spun with a plush brushed surface that holds light warmth without excess weight. It carries horizontal give so the fabric moves easily and recovers its shape after hours of seated wear.
  • Henley button neckline. A central button placket opens down the chest, letting you adjust the collar from a closed round neck to a shallow V. A small patch pocket sits flat across the chest.
  • Trouser pockets and cut. We gave the matching bottoms a relaxed, straight leg and deep side pockets that sit flush in the side seams. The waistband rests comfortably without pinching or rolling down.
  • Washing and care. Machine wash the set in cold water with gentle agitation to preserve the brushed nap of the knit. Tumble dry on low heat or lay flat to dry away from direct sun.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
