What we would tell you in the studio

  • Crew neck top. The top is built with a bound round neckline that stays flat under collared shirts and chunky pullovers. Its long sleeves finish with simple hems that sit flush against the wrist.
  • Straight-leg bottoms. The knit trousers follow the leg in a straight line down to the ankle. An elasticated waistband keeps them in place beneath heavy jeans or ski pants without adding excess bulk.
  • Layering weight. We chose a lightweight, smooth-faced knit for this set so it adds warmth without stiffness. The yarn carries enough stretch to move easily during outdoor walks or quiet days indoors.
  • Laundering notes. Wash both pieces together in cool water on a gentle cycle to preserve the purple dye lot. Lay them flat to dry so the knit keeps its shape and recovery over time.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
