What we would tell you in the studio
- Open draped front. The front panels fall without buttons or zips, creating folded lapels that move as you walk. The hem sits long to give the lightweight knit room to drape.
- Marled yarn blend. We spun this in coffee grey, twisting lighter and darker strands together for a flecked finish. The fine knit has built-in stretch and feels smooth against bare arms.
- Front patch pockets. Two open patch pockets sit square at the front panels. They are set low enough for hands and deep enough to hold a phone without pulling the knit out of line.
- Layering and care. This piece slides over short-sleeved tops, dresses and fine knits without adding bulk. Wash on a gentle cycle in cold water and dry flat to keep the hem straight.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
