What we would tell you in the studio
- Open front drape. The front panels are cut without buttons or closures, letting the knit fold back naturally into soft lapels. It hangs away from the body so air moves through easily on warm afternoons.
- Short sleeve cut. We kept the sleeves short to balance the longer hemline. The sleeve openings are cut wide enough to slide over jersey tees and ribbed tank tops without pulling or bunching under the arm.
- Two patch pockets. Two flat knit pockets sit low on the front panels. They are stitched down to hold small daily items like a phone or keys without dragging the lower hemline out of shape.
- Gentle knit care. Wash this piece on a gentle cycle in cold water with similar light tones. Lay it flat across a drying rack to protect the open front panels and keep the hem even.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
