What we would tell you in the studio
- Open front and band. The front opening drops straight without fasteners, trimmed with a broad knit band that gives the front edge structure and helps the cardigan hang clear of base layers.
- Patch pocket placement. Two patch pockets sit at the front waistline, knitted flat and stitched securely to hold small items without pulling the lower hem out of shape.
- Curved hem drape. The lower edge curves gently toward the sides rather than ending in a blunt horizontal cut. This gives the knit natural movement when you walk.
- Yarn hand and wash. This fine-gauge knit blend has built-in stretch and a smooth face. Wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh laundry bag, then lay flat on a towel to dry.
