What we would tell you in the studio
- Fuzzy knit surface. The yarn is blended to produce a soft, fuzzy texture that holds its body. We chose a tight knit structure to help reduce surface pilling during regular wear and movement.
- Roomy straight cut. The body falls straight from the shoulders down to the lower hem, landing between the hip and the knee. It moves easily over jeans or leggings without clinging.
- Classic crew neckline. A simple banded crewneck finishes the top. The knit ribbing keeps its round shape through repeated dressing, resting flat against the base of the neck.
- Washing and care. Hand wash this sweater or run it on a gentle machine cycle inside a mesh laundry bag. Lay the knit flat on a towel to dry so the weight does not stretch the hem.
Living with this one
Do
- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.
Skip
- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
