What we would tell you in the studio
- Crewneck collar. The round neckline is finished with a clean ribbed band that rests flat at the base of the throat. It holds its shape through regular pulling on and off without stretching wide.
- Roomy straight cut. The body is knitted wide so the fabric falls straight down to the lower hem. It creates space between the knit and your base layers, keeping the drape loose and unconstricted.
- Long sleeve finish. Sleeves run full length with enough ease to pull over a long-sleeve tee. Ribbed cuffs gather the fabric lightly at the wrist to keep the sleeves from sliding down over your hands.
- Gentle wash care. Wash this piece by hand or run it on a gentle machine cycle inside a mesh laundry bag. Lay it flat across a rack to dry so the weight of wet yarn does not pull the hem out of line.

- Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
- Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
- Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
- Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

- Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
- The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
- Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
- Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
