What we would tell you in the studio

  • High mock collar. The neck stands upright in a double rib that holds its shape through a full day of wear. It rests close enough to block cold drafts without gripping the throat or requiring a fold.
  • Lantern sleeve shape. Each sleeve widens along the forearm before pulling back in at the extended cuff. This volume gives the arms room to bend freely while keeping the fabric tidy at the wrists.
  • Short straight hem. The body falls straight from the underarms to an above-the-knee hemline. Because it does not taper at the bottom edge, it pairs cleanly over thick tights, denim, or knee boots without bunching.
  • Care and shape retention. Hand wash this knit in cool water or run it through a gentle cycle inside a mesh bag. Reshape the sleeves while damp and lay the dress flat on a towel to dry so the yarn does not stretch out.

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
