Women 2 Piece Winter Turleneck Sweater Matching Lounge Sets

We knit this two-piece set in a uniform apricot ribbed gauge so both halves share the same weight and give. The top is cut roomy with a folded turtleneck and long raglan sleeves, while the trousers fall straight through the leg with a drawstring waist. Wear them together or break them apart.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Ribbed knit structure. The vertical rib runs through the sweater and the trousers, giving the fabric natural lateral stretch that recovers when rested. It sits soft against bare skin without scratchiness.
  • Turtleneck and raglan sleeve. The high neck stands up softly without pinching the throat. We shaped the shoulders with raglan seams to keep the line smooth over long sleeves that finish in simple self-knit cuffs.
  • Wide-leg trouser cut. The trousers hang loose from an elasticated drawstring waistband down to a wide, ungathered hem. The knit has enough weight to drop straight without clinging at the knee.
  • Cold wash and flat dry. Wash both pieces together in cold water on a gentle cycle so the dye shade stays matched. Reshape the knit while damp and dry flat on a towel away from direct heat.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
