Women 2 Piece Winter Turleneck Sweater Matching Lounge Sets

We knit this two-piece set in a soft brown rib that gives both pieces plenty of horizontal give. The sweater hangs loose from a high neck down past the hip, with low raglan armholes for easy movement. Matching wide-leg trousers finish the pairing with an adjustable drawstring waist.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • High ribbed collar. The turtleneck sits close enough to hold its shape around the neck without feeling tight. Knitted in vertical ribbing, it stays upright or folds down once if you prefer less height.
  • Raglan sleeve cut. The long sleeves join the body along a diagonal raglan line rather than a set-in shoulder seam. This gives the upper body a relaxed drape and keeps the fit roomy over a base tee.
  • Wide leg trousers. We shaped the pants with a generous leg that falls straight from the hip. An elastic waistband with a knit drawstring cord keeps the waist secure without digging in during long wear.
  • Washing and care. Hand wash in cold water or use a gentle machine cycle inside a mesh laundry bag. Squeeze out excess moisture without wringing the yarn, then dry both pieces flat on a clean towel.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
