Women 2 Piece Winter Turleneck Sweater Matching Lounge Sets

We knit this two piece set in a soft ribbed gauge from one dye lot so the khaki top and trousers match in tone and weight. The turtleneck sweater hangs loose with a low raglan shoulder, while the trousers fall wide through the leg from an elastic waistband with a knit drawcord.

What we would tell you in the studio

  • Ribbed knit texture. The ribbing runs vertically down both pieces to give the fabric give and recovery. It rests soft against bare skin without prickle and holds enough body to drape cleanly rather than cling.
  • Turtleneck and raglan sleeve. We set the neck high to stand soft around the throat without pressing tight. The sleeves drop from raglan seams into loose cuffs that push up easily on the forearm.
  • Wide leg trouser waist. The trousers pull on with a flat elastic channel at the waist, secured by a matching knitted drawstring. The cut stays generous through the thigh and drops straight to the lower hem.
  • Washing and flat drying. Hand wash in cold water with mild wool detergent or run on a gentle cycle inside a mesh bag. Press out excess water with a towel and dry flat on a rack to keep the knit from stretching.

Living with this one

Do

  • Wash cold and on the gentle cycle, or by hand if the yarn feels loose.
  • Dry it flat, in shape, away from the radiator.
  • Fold it on the shelf rather than hanging it by the shoulders.
  • Measure a jumper you already like and compare it before you settle on a size.

Skip

  • Bleach and fabric softener, both of them flatten the surface.
  • The hot tumble dryer, which is how knit becomes one size smaller.
  • Hangers with thin shoulders, they leave two points that never come out.
  • Ironing directly on the face of the knit.
